The place where all the events of Invictus play out is called Avalon. There are many interpretations to the name, but the general consensus among the races is the meaning, “Sacred Land”, stemming from the old, and forgotten language of the Titans. Why is it “sacred”? That is because it is the place where the Titans came to be. Born from the blood of the creator deity, Harmuth, they carry within him his divine essence. However, in the beginning, Avalon was a shapeless lump of mass, devoid of all life. Its nascency is quite bizarre. It came to be when Harmuth decided he wanted a place for him to lord over, along with his seven children, The Primordial Gods. He took a lump of his flesh, shaped it into a sphere and left it afloat in the empty space of the Universe. With his powers of creation he breathed life into it, and the sphere grew.
Then, he began to shape and model it the way he wanted. He made mountains, rivers, valleys … moulding and building, like when a potter makes his work of clay. When he was finished, he wanted to populate it, but he had no chance, for his children had plotted to slay him – and slay him they did. When his blood sprayed over the Universe, it created the stars; and when it fell on the newly created world, it created the Titans.
